When those 'surveys' come around through email--the ones where you get to 'know' your friends better by their answers to questions--there is always the question "What is your favorite day of the year?" My answer is always "the day after the last day of school". Don't get me wrong, I love teaching (well not the paper work or politics or correcting or...I'd better stop). But after spending almost ten months with the little darlings I need a break from them and they need one from me. Hasn't there been a time when you are driving to work and you imagine what it would be like to just keep driving out of town, out of the state? I think back to a tv show decades ago called Route 66. Two cute guys had a Corvette and just drove from place to place, getting temporary jobs and then moving on. It all looked like so much fun! I know...I watch too much tv....I'm a tvaholic. I'll admit it.
Well, these days instead of daydreaming of going off on an adventure I like to speed home to see Jack. He is just too cute and becoming quite a little tyrant. When I get home he likes to come to me because he knows I will follow where he leads (actually I will take him where he points cuz he can't walk or talk yet).
In the not too distant future I will have another grandchild from my daughter Jessica. Unfortunately she and her husband live in Maryland. I am hoping that they will eventually come here to live.

Cleaning the closet
It was a bad day today for doing outside chores (not that I do any---Dave does that stuff!). So I said to Dave "Let's clean our closet". I wanted to clean the closet because I think around Christmas time we were in a time crunch and just placed all kinds of stuff in there 'temporarily'. It never saw the light of day again ...until now.
Dave said "I bet all that stuff on the floor is not mine". He's a wise guy and I don't mean that in a good way. He pulled all of his clothes out. I didn't have to because my side was neat. I color code my clothes...all clothing of the same color is hang together. So we proceeded to place stuff on our bed. When it overflowed we started on the floor around the bed and then spread out into the hallway. I felt like we were on the HGTV show "Mission Organization" without all of the neat organizers they bring. We ended up filling up 6 large garbage bags of clothes and 3 bags of, well, garbage. We can now walk in to our walk-in closet. Next will be a "California " closet. I'm saving my pennies... Speaking of pennies, I found a good sized plastic container with lots of pennies as well as dimes and nickels in the closet. But Dave has me beat.....He found $50!
