I was ambivalent about our house color from the moment we bought it. It was not yellow but more of a yellowy mustard color. We inquired about having new siding installed but it would have cost a fortune. So we decided to paint. Of course that decision was made several years ago. My dh likes to mull things over while I like to jump in head first. Last fall we received an insulting (imho) anonymus letter stating that 'we' all had to keep up our properties. Yeah, yeah, whatever. All that did was make me mad and want to not paint the house. Good sense won out and we had it painted, not because of the letter but because WE wanted to. Now we have a dark gray house with black shutters, white trim and reddish doors. I am not crazy about the doors. I wanted something like dark cranberry but they painted it dark reddish purple. We already had repainted once--it was a dark raspberry sherbet color. Oh, well. It looks so much better.
